# SendWhale five-step onboarding: set up your workspace

> Walk through the five-step onboarding flow after registration to configure your business identity, branding, address, team size, and goals.

After you register and verify your account, SendWhale walks you through a five-step onboarding flow before you reach your workspace. Each step collects information that shapes how your workspace, brand settings, and email footers are pre-configured. You can revisit any step without losing answers you have already provided.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Business identity">
    Enter your business name and your website URL. If you do not have a website yet, select the **No website** option to continue. SendWhale uses this information to populate your brand settings and to pull initial brand context if a URL is provided.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Social links and logo">
    Add links to your social media profiles and upload your business logo. Both fields are optional — you can skip them now and add them later in your workspace brand settings. Your logo appears in email templates and your hosted pages.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Business address">
    Enter the physical mailing address for your business. This address is automatically pre-filled into the footer of every campaign email you send, as required by CAN-SPAM and GDPR regulations. Enter it accurately — recipients and compliance reviewers will see it.

    <Warning>
      Your business address appears in every campaign email footer. If it changes, update it in your workspace brand settings immediately — do not leave an outdated address in your footers.
    </Warning>

    <Note>
      After onboarding, you can update this address at any time from your workspace's brand settings page without affecting campaigns that have already been sent.
    </Note>
  </Step>

  <Step title="Team and contact size estimates">
    Select the ranges that best describe the size of your team and your current contact or subscriber list. SendWhale uses these estimates to tailor your initial workspace configuration. You are not locked into these values — they are estimates only.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Goals">
    Choose what you want to achieve with email marketing — for example, growing your audience, driving purchases, or keeping customers informed. Your selections guide Swell when suggesting campaign types and content strategies. You can update your goals later from workspace settings.
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Note>
  You can navigate back to any earlier step during onboarding without losing the answers you have already entered. Once you complete all five steps, SendWhale proceeds to your workspace setup.
