# Send Your Email Campaign: Delivery Guide for SendWhale

> Choose your recipient audience, review the suppression-filtered count, and confirm delivery — then track your campaign through its status transitions.

Sending a campaign delivers it to your chosen audience immediately or at a previously scheduled time. Before confirming, SendWhale gives you a final opportunity to review the recipient count, sender, subject, and content. Take this step seriously — once a campaign is sent, it cannot be recalled.

## Before you send

Complete the following steps before confirming delivery:

1. **Run preflight checks** — resolve any blocking issues flagged by preflight. See [Preflight](/campaigns/preflight) for details.
2. **Send a test email** — verify layout, links, and images in a real email client. See [Test Send](/campaigns/test).
3. **Review the campaign** — double-check the subject line, preheader, sender name, sender email, and body content.

## Steps to send

<Steps>
  <Step title="Complete preflight">
    Open the send flow and confirm all preflight checks pass. Fix any blocking issues before proceeding.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Choose an audience or segment">
    Select the audience or segment you want to receive this campaign. Suppressed, unsubscribed, and bounced contacts are excluded automatically — the recipient count reflects this.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Review the recipient count">
    Check the number of recipients shown in the confirmation dialog. This is the number of contacts who will receive the campaign after suppression has been applied.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Confirm in the delivery dialog">
    Review the sender, subject line, audience, and recipient count one final time. Click **Send** or **Confirm** to start delivery.
  </Step>
</Steps>

  </Card>
</CardGroup>

## Cancelling a queued campaign

A campaign that is **Queued** but has not yet started sending may be cancellable. To attempt cancellation:

1. Open the campaign from your campaign list
2. Select **Cancel** if the option is available

Cancellation is **not guaranteed** once the campaign has entered **Sending** status. If the option is not visible, delivery has already begun.

<Warning>
  Sent campaigns cannot be recalled. Once a campaign reaches **Sending** status, emails are being dispatched to real recipients. Review the sender, audience, subject line, and content carefully in the confirmation dialog before clicking Send.
</Warning>
