# Manage SendWhale workspace members and role permissions

> Invite team members to your SendWhale workspace, assign owner, admin, editor, or viewer roles, and manage or remove access as your team changes.

Workspace members are the people who have access to a specific workspace in SendWhale. A person can belong to multiple workspaces with a different role in each one — their permissions are always scoped to the workspace they are currently working in. Use this page to invite collaborators, adjust their roles, and remove access when needed.

## Roles and permissions

Each workspace member is assigned one of four roles. Roles control what actions a member can take within that workspace.

| Role | What they can do |
| - | - |
| **Owner** | Full access to everything — manage billing, delete the workspace, transfer ownership, and all admin capabilities |
| **Admin** | Manage members, brand settings, integrations, campaigns, and contacts |
| **Editor** | Create and edit campaigns, contacts, and audiences |
| **Viewer** | Read-only access to campaigns and reports |

## Inviting a member

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open member settings">
    Go to **Workspace Settings → Members** and select **Invite member**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Enter their email address">
    Type the email address of the person you want to invite and select the role they should have.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Send the invitation">
    Confirm and send. SendWhale delivers an invitation email to that address.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Recipient accepts">
    The invited person clicks the link in the invitation email. If they do not already have a SendWhale account, they will be prompted to create one before accepting. Once accepted, they appear in your member list with the role you assigned.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Removing a member

Owners and admins can remove any member from the workspace. Select the member in the list and choose **Remove**. Their access is revoked immediately upon confirmation.

<Warning>
  Removing a member immediately revokes their access to this workspace. They will no longer be able to view campaigns, contacts, or any other workspace data. This action takes effect right away — there is no grace period.
</Warning>

## Protecting the last owner

You cannot remove the last owner of a workspace. If you are the only owner and you want to leave or remove yourself, you must first transfer ownership to another member. Promote another member to the owner role, then remove yourself.

<Note>
  Role changes and removals only affect the current workspace. If the same person is a member of another workspace, their access there is unaffected.
