Integration states
Every integration in your workspace shows one of three states:Some integrations are available to connect now, while others are planned for a future release. Check the integrations page in your workspace for the current status of each service.
Connecting an integration
1
Find the integration
Go to Workspace Settings → Integrations and locate the service you want to connect.
2
Click Connect
Select Connect on the integration card. SendWhale will either prompt you for an API key or redirect you to the provider’s authorization page.
3
Authorize at the provider
If the integration uses OAuth, you will be redirected to the provider. Review the permissions being requested, then confirm authorization. If the integration uses an API key, paste the key into the settings form — not into chat.
4
Return to SendWhale
After authorizing, SendWhale completes the connection. The integration status updates to Ready once the first sync completes.
OAuth vs. API key integrations
- OAuth integrations — you are redirected to the provider to grant access. Review the exact permissions listed on the provider’s screen before confirming. You can revoke access from the provider’s account settings at any time.
- API key integrations — you copy an API key from your provider account and paste it into the integration settings form in SendWhale.
Sync behavior
Once connected, an integration syncs data on its configured schedule. Sync frequency depends on the integration. You do not need to trigger syncs manually — they run automatically. Check the integration detail page to see the last sync time and status.Reconnecting an integration
If an integration shows an error or an expired token, select Reconnect on the integration card and complete the authorization flow again. This happens when provider tokens expire or when you rotate your API keys.Disconnecting an integration
Select Disconnect on the integration card and confirm. SendWhale stops syncing with that service immediately. Existing data that was already synced into your workspace is not automatically deleted — you manage contact and audience data separately. When Swell guides you through setting up an integration during a chat session, you still need to authorize the connection at the provider. Swell can walk you through the steps, but it cannot complete the authorization on your behalf.
